Modern information streams are filled not only with original texts, films, and shows, but also with their parodies. These parodies have gained popularity among internet users. Some parodies can be classified as memes. Parody is a form of art. The goal of creating parodies is to achieve a comedic effect by repeating unique features of the initial information in a specially altered form. Parody also has another meaning. It can be seen as a poor imitation when attempting to create something worthy but becoming the subject of ridicule instead. However, this article is referring to parodies that were intentionally created and where the characteristic features of the initial information have been taken to absurd extremes. There are several methods used to achieve the comedic effect in parodies. One of these methods is breaking the unity of style and theme in the presentation. Hyperbole is also used, which means taking the characteristic features of the initial information to absurd extremes and repeating them. The distinctive features and characteristics of the initial information are often changed to their opposite. The context of the information is altered, and the shift towards the ridiculous and humorous is made. Parodies target many literary genres, films, cartoons, music files, games, TV shows, and any other information, even many famous personalities. Parodies can exist in the form of memes. These meme parodies can be presented in the form of demotivational posters, memes, and advice animals, as well as videos that have gained popularity and spread virally from user to user. Often, memes and advice animals are presented as caricatures of the parodied information and text that emphasize the most characteristic feature in a comedic way. There are memes where a picture without text is enough to convey the entire idea of the parody. As an example, one can mention a meme parody of the TV show "Let's Get Married!" The meme is presented as a picture with a caricature of the three hosts. The hosts' expressions and gestures are unfriendly and even aggressive. To this image there is the text, "Let's get married, damn it!" There are many other examples on the internet. Any user can contribute to this collection of parody memes if they wish. Creating memes can be tried both in online programs and on one's PC in graphics and video editing programs. It is important to start by choosing the information that you want to parody. Then, define the main features of the character or work. Use the main methods described earlier and create the parody. Fortunately, or unfortunately, not every parody can become a meme parody and achieve the desired spread.
